Priorities

priorities - How can I set the right priorities?

Seek [the LORD’s] will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Proverbs 3:6

The most important commandment is this: . . . “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” The second is equally important: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” No other commandment is greater than these.

Mark 12:29-31

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Matthew 6:33

WHEN WE FEEL STRESSED, exhausted from rushing from one thing to the next, it may be time to sit with God in the quiet to reset our priorities. It can feel difficult to take time to listen to God’s voice in times of stress, but that is when we need it most. The more time we spend with the Lord, the more certainly we will recognize his voice. Knowing how to listen to him will give us confidence to do what is most important, helping us decide what to say yes to and what to let go. Put God first and watch how much simpler life becomes. When you seek him and trust that he is in control, you become free from feeling like you need to do it all. Take time to rest in his company and get his insights on your obligations, and he will show you how to live with freedom and simplicity.
