THE WORD MEDITATION has become associated with Eastern spirituality and mysticism, but biblical meditation simply means thinking deeply on God’s Word and what it reveals about him. The concept of meditation is mentioned throughout the Bible. Joshua and David talk about meditating on God’s law day and night. David prayed that his meditations would be pleasing to God. Meditation goes beyond the study of God to communion with him that ultimately leads to godly actions. How would your life be different if you filled your thoughts daily with God and his Word? Think deeply about God’s Word, his actions, and his presence in your life. Weave these thoughts into the fabric of your life. Meditating on God and his Word is an essential part of keeping your spiritual walk strong and focused.
