Gideon, who hid from his enemies in a winepress and claimed he was “the least” of his family, was called a mighty hero by the angel of the Lord. Paul, who was famous for persecuting Christians, was called by God to spread the gospel after his conversion. God’s message to Gideon and Paul—and to us—is clear: Our limitations do not define us. God calls out the best in us. He sees more in us than we see in ourselves. We may look at our limitations, but God looks at our potential.
