Internal Conflict

internal conflict - I want to please God, but I know that often I don’t. How can I resolve this internal conflict?

There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

Romans 8:1-2

Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

Romans 7:24-25

The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.

Psalm 103:13-14

MOST OF US struggle with inner conflict. We have given our lives to follow Christ, but our old human nature still exists. We don’t want to do wrong, but we often do. We know the attitudes and behavior Christ desires, but we find it hard to live that way all the time. When we fail to please God, we have two choices: Either we condemn ourselves, allowing our shame to separate us from God, or we let our shortcomings remind us of our need for Jesus. God deeply desires you to choose him. The power of the Cross is greater than the power of sin. Allow this inner conflict to lead you toward receiving God’s forgiveness, acceptance, and grace.
