Because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.

WE OFTEN base our identity on what we do—our career, talents, accomplishments, and what others say about us. But Dallas Willard states, “It’s not what you do; it’s who you become. That’s what you will take into eternity. . . . It’s the most important thing about you. It is your life.” Becoming a woman who identifies herself with Christ is the most important thing we can do for our lives on earth and into eternity. How we identify ourselves will impact every action, thought, and relationship. When you recognize that you’re basing your identity on worldly things, look to God’s Word to show you who you really are. He calls you his child and heir, and he says you are known and loved by him. This is the most important thing about you; this is who you are.
