Hurts
hurts - How can I heal from the hurts in my relationships?
Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the LORD to handle the matter.
Proverbs 20:22
If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matthew 6:14-15
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
Colossians 3:13
Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.
1 Peter 3:8-9
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
WHEN OTHERS hurt us, it can be very tempting to retaliate—especially with our words. However, God assures us that he is in control and will handle the matter. And he will always handle it better than we could. Our part, with God’s help, is to work toward forgiveness. This could very well be the hardest thing God calls us to do. But he tells us to forgive because he knows that is the best antidote for healing. Trust that God is in control of your relationships and will give you the strength to begin the process of healing through forgiveness.
