Hurry

hurry - Why is it important to resist hurry in my life?

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

James 4:14

Be still, and know that I am God!

Psalm 46:10

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Matthew 11:28-29

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

Psalm 90:12

AS WOMEN, many of us feel like we can never slow down. If we pause and take a break, who will handle the hundreds of details we carry in our minds all the time? Whether it’s responsibilities with work, family, home, or church, we rush because we feel responsible to make sure everything gets done. The truth is, when we hurry, we are actually trying to do too much. God did not intend for us to race through the only life we have been given. In fact, he promises that our busy rushing is useless because we never know what tomorrow will bring. Intentionally fight against hurry by taking the time to read the Bible verses on this page once again. Take a deep breath and allow yourself to trust in God’s promises that slowing down is actually good for you. It reminds us that our lives are more than to-do lists, that God is in control, and that our ultimate purpose is to glorify him.
