Hiding
hiding - What can I do when it feels like God is hiding himself and his plans from me?
Ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Romans 1:20
If you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
Deuteronomy 4:29
His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us.
Acts 17:27
Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
SOMETIMES IT FEELS like God is hiding himself and his plans, but in reality, he is everywhere. Sometimes we just look for him in the wrong places. C. S. Lewis said, “We may ignore, but we can nowhere evade the presence of God. The world is crowded with Him. He walks everywhere incognito.” We can see glimpses of him through his creation, his Word, and his people. If you feel like there is distance between you and God right now, remind yourself of the truths from his Word. The Bible is a beautiful story about how God loves, pursues, and reveals himself to his people. Take heart because God is nearer than you think.
