Help

help - I find it hard to ask for help. How can I move past this?

The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

Genesis 2:18

The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.

Psalm 28:7

This same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19

EVERYONE has limitations—areas of weakness, feelings of inadequacy, a lack of skill or knowledge. Although our culture may admire the strong, independent spirit, no one can really survive alone. That’s why God created us to be in relationship with him and with other people. Part of relationship is giving and receiving help. We need help to get work done. We need help to restore relationships. We need help to develop our skills. We need help to think through problems. We need help to say, “I’m sorry.” Just as we might be more than willing to help a friend, God wants to help us too. He is the ultimate helper, for he is wise, strong, and infinitely loving. Not only does our help come from God, but God also uses others to help us. Ask God to teach you how to humble yourself to receive help so that one day you can offer help to another in need.
