health - Does God care about my physical health? Isn’t spiritual health more important to him?

Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.

1 Timothy 4:8

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Romans 12:1

Give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.

THE BODY AND SOUL are intimately connected, and God cares about both. Our Creator knows that spiritual disciplines—worship, prayer, obedience to God’s Word—have a profound impact on our physical lives, and that physical habits—from nutrition to hygiene—influence our spiritual lives. Although our souls are the most important part of us, we are also physical beings. Therefore we are called to care for our bodies and honor God with them, remembering that they are good creations from him. Ask God how to help you keep your physical and spiritual health in a wholesome balance so that you can best worship your Creator.
