God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Ephesians 2:8-9

The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

Romans 6:14

GRACE is one of the most tangible expressions of love. It is both a onetime act (the grace of God giving us salvation through faith in Jesus) and a way of life (living in freedom rather than captive to guilt and shame). In either case, grace is simply God’s special favor. The fact that grace is God’s gift and not the product of our own effort gives us an example of how we are to extend grace to others. Are you known for being someone who is quick to forgive, eager to extend kindness, and generous in showing love—even to those who don’t deserve it? If this feels hard for you, look to God’s Word to be reminded of how he has shown grace to you. As you increase your understanding of his grace, you can’t help but be moved to share that same gift with those around you.
