Government

government - How should I pray for my country?

Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

1 Timothy 2:2

May you hear the humble and earnest requests from me and your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, hear us from heaven where you live, and when you hear, forgive.

1 Kings 8:30

When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily.

Proverbs 28:2

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

IN MANY COUNTRIES, the word government is associated with division, conflict, and pain. God’s Word may not have clear instructions on every political issue, but it clearly instructs us to pray. And as believers, we should pray that our nation will be protected by God’s mighty hand. We should pray that our leaders will be humble and wise, able to discern right from wrong and advocate for the needy and helpless. God’s Word warns that nations who endorse and condone immorality are subject to judgment and will eventually collapse from the inside out. A nation that collectively worships the one true God will stand firm. As you read the news this week, remember to let prayer for your country be your first response.
