Generosity
generosity - How can I learn to be more generous?
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
Remember the words of the Lord Jesus: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Acts 20:35
The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Proverbs 11:25
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
Luke 6:38
THE BIBLE has a lot to say about money—not how much or how little we should make, but rather, how we should give it away. The way we spend our money reveals what we care most about. Generosity is not just giving money to help others, but also giving our time, talents, and possessions. Generosity is important because it teaches us to trust God with our resources and put others before ourselves. When we give, we begin to release our grip on the things we hold too tightly. If generosity feels hard for you, perhaps God wants to show you a treasure that has taken priority over him in your heart. Ask him to unleash the gift of generosity in you so you can receive the joy that comes from giving.
