Galatians 5:22-23

They delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

Psalm 1:2-3

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is the result of growth in our relationship with Jesus. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are evidence of God’s work in our lives. The more we mature in our relationship with God, the more growth we will see in these areas. Some fruit grows quickly, while others take a long time to mature. Think of the Holy Spirit as the gardener of our souls. He works to weed out the roots of sin so it won’t choke out the fruit. He prunes anything in our lives that doesn’t help us grow. He cultivates and nurtures what is life-giving. Your job is to surrender to the Master Gardener, realizing that he knows how to help you grow best. God wants to produce beautiful fruit in all seasons of life so that others will recognize the work of the Master Gardener in you.
