Expectations

expectations - Is it wrong to expect things from God?

Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.

Romans 4:20-21

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

2 Peter 3:9

He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!

Deuteronomy 32:4

WE OFTEN have expectations of others, whether we are conscious of them or not. Sometimes we expect too much of the people in our lives. Other times we lower our expectations to protect ourselves from the possibility of disappointment. The good news is, we never need to lower our expectations of God. His Word states that if we follow him, we can expect him to work on our behalf, to guide us and faithfully keep all his promises. God may not answer our prayers in the way we desire, but we can always expect him to answer in the best way. So pray boldly and trust that God has great things in store for your future.
