dreams - Does God still speak through dreams today?

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son.

Hebrews 1:1-2

When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.

Matthew 2:12

I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.

Joel 2:28

Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream last night, and no one here can tell me what it means. But I have heard that when you hear about a dream you can interpret it.” “It is beyond my power to do this,” Joseph replied. “But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease.”

Genesis 41:15-16

GOD SPEAKS to us in a variety of ways: through his Word, through the godly wisdom of others, through nature, through our consciences, and sometimes through dreams and visions. If God speaks to you in a dream, his message will always be consistent with what he has already told you in his Word. He will never contradict his own commandments or ask you to do something immoral or illegal. If a dream moves you to serve God and others with greater passion, do so; it may be God speaking to you in a new way!
