Courage

courage - Where can I find courage to face the things I am afraid of?

Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights.

Psalm 18:31-33

The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.

Psalm 28:7

MARK TWAIN once said, “Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of it.” Fear is a normal part of life, and sometimes we have no choice but to step into a situation that terrifies us. However, we can choose how to move forward—timidly or courageously. Even if we aren’t feeling very brave, we can trust that God is greater than any enemy or problem we are facing. Throughout his Word, God promises that he will give his people strength and courage and that he will never leave them. His words still hold true for you today. Grow in courage, trusting God’s promise to be with you wherever you go.
