Condemnation
condemnation - What can I do when others look down on me because of my faith?
The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
Psalm 27:1
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!
1 John 3:1
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? . . . No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Romans 8:35, 37
THE BEST THING we can do when others look down on us for our faith is to remind ourselves of this truth: We are known and loved by God. Meditating on and receiving God’s love is the foundation for how we live, make decisions, and relate to others. If we go through life with confidence that we are loved by God, we remain secure and joyful—even when others condemn us for what we believe. Our ultimate purpose is to please the one who made us and redeemed us, no matter what others may think. The next time you feel condemned for your faith, remember who your Father is. He is able to free you from the bondage of human opinion and criticism because of his deep love for you.
