Community

community - How can I have a good impact on my community?

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

1 Peter 2:12

If someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

1 Peter 3:15-16

You are the light of the world. . . . No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Matthew 5:14-16

GOD’S INFLUENCE in our lives is very attractive to others. The more we are women who reflect God’s loving character, the more people will be drawn to us. Practically, this may mean just being friendly neighbors, volunteering to serve the needy in our communities, being responsible citizens, making peace with difficult people, or treating others with fairness and respect. Through these simple actions we can be attractive examples of God’s love to people in our communities. With God’s power, your character can become a beacon of light that brightens the whole community with God’s transforming ways.
