Comparison

comparison - How do I resist the temptation to compare myself to others?

Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.

Galatians 6:4-5

We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10

Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

Colossians 3:2

AS WOMEN, we learn early on to rank ourselves with those around us, whether by appearance, intelligence, or personality. But if we only knew how much God loves us, we wouldn’t feel the need to compare ourselves to anyone else. We are so valuable to him. He loves us just as we are. Therefore, it is foolish to look to others for who we “should” or “shouldn’t” be. Whenever you start comparing yourself to someone else, look to God instead. He is your Creator, the one who gave you all your unique character traits and talents. Stay focused on him, for only he can make you fully satisfied, happy, and complete. Don’t allow comparison to distract you from the unique, wonderful journey he has in store for you.
