Call Of God

call of God - How do I know when God is calling me to do something?

Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Romans 12:2

The LORD called out, “Samuel!” . . . And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.”

1 Samuel 3:4, 10

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

Psalm 119:105

THE FIRST STEP to understanding our calling is getting to know God intimately through his Word. As God communicates to us through the Bible and as we pray, he will show us what he wants us to do and where he wants us to go. God calls us in two different ways: generally and specifically. God’s general call is to be in relationship with him, obey his Word, do what is right, and show genuine love for others. But God also has a specific call for each person, a special role he wants us to play, based on the unique gifts he has given us. If you don’t know what your specific call is, keep obeying and seeking God each day. Over time, his plan for your life will unfold. If God calls you to a specific task, seize the moment and follow God’s call. Don’t let the window of opportunity close and miss all God has in store for you.
