A prayer when in Danger

When temptation becomes increasingly threatening

Dear God,

Please protect me from the temptation to do wrong. That is one danger I face constantly. How grateful I am when I see a guardrail along a dangerous curve in the road. I know it’s there not to inhibit my freedom to drive but to save my life if I lose control. Please give me the wisdom to recognize the guardrails you have set up to protect me as I travel through life. May I feel security and relief when I see them, rather than frustration that my freedom might be inhibited. And may I remember to thank you when one of those guardrails saves me from disaster. As I travel this life journey, may I rely on your Word to guard my heart so that I can stay focused on the road you have mapped out for me. Perhaps more than anything else this will prevent me from having a terrible accident when temptation tries to distract me.
