A prayer about Abilities

When I doubt I am up to the task

Lord,

Deep within the human spirit lies a longing and a capacity to do significant things. Because I am made in your image, God, I have inherited from you the desire to create, to accomplish, to make things happen. You wouldn’t have given me these desires without the abilities to carry them out. My abilities are gifts from you to help me accomplish great things in your name. How I use my abilities ultimately determines my quality of life—not defined by comfort or the accumulation of wealth, but by strong character, joy, and lasting satisfaction. Lord, you desire that I focus on discovering my abilities, developing them, and channeling them toward what will achieve the greatest good for those around me. Thank you, Lord, that when you ask me to accomplish something, you give me the resources to get the job done.
