A prayer about Decisions

When I need affirmation that my little decisions really matter

Father in heaven,

Thank you that object lessons from everyday life can teach me about following you, the holy God. Today as I walked, it occurred to me that making right decisions is like hiking; each step puts me a little further down the path. It struck me that making the right decision simply means being faithful in little things—one small step at a time. Your will for me is first and foremost to read the Bible, obey you, serve others, and do what is right. If I decide simply to do that today and each day, I can be sure that I will be doing your will tomorrow and twenty years from now. Then when I approach the end of my life on earth, I will leave behind a legacy of faithfulness. Father, please help me with the first small step.
