A prayer of Praise

When I enter God’s presence and think on all he has done

Holy God,

Praise is creation’s natural response to your greatness. It is not unusual for people to burst into spontaneous applause when a head of state or a celebrity enters a room. And when I enter your presence through worship, my natural response should be praise. The Bible teaches that you created the universe. That you hold all of creation in your hands and yet care deeply for the details of my life is amazing. Truly you alone are worthy of my highest praise. When I consider who you are and what you have done for me, praise is the only possible response! Jesus said that if people didn’t lift their voices to worship, the very rocks and stones would cry out in praise to you. I lift my voice to you now and glorify you. I admire you, respect you, and long to give you glory my whole life long.

Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the LORD made the heavens! 1 Chronicles 16:25-26
