A prayer in Busyness

When I’m overcommitted in my activities

Dear God,

I try to balance my schedule, but I fear I have overcommitted myself once again. I have fallen in the trap of busyness. Help me to overcome this tendency to be overly busy. It really is an empty way of life, and it keeps me from being fully productive for you. Give me a clear sense of your calling and the wisdom to know which things are worth doing and which things I should pass up. Empower me to make the most of the time you’ve given me.

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. Psalm 90:12
