A Prayer For Conviction
A prayer for Conviction
When I’m seeking conviction to strengthen my faith
Dear Lord,
There are two kinds of conviction I ask from you. First, I need the conviction of knowing what is true and right. Please help me to know truth, to rightly discern what your Word says. Second, I need your Holy Spirit to teach my heart so that I can know how to live out these truths effectively. It isn’t enough to know what to believe. I must live out those beliefs in a way that draws me closer to you and sets a good example for others who are growing in their faith. Thank you for the Holy Spirit, who convicts my heart. Please keep my convictions firm, that my life might be an accurate picture of your grace, truth, and love.
[The responsibility of church leaders] will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. Ephesians 4:13-15
