A prayer for Confidence

When I need a healthy dose of confidence

Dear Jesus,

I want to be confident. I don’t want to be cocky, but I long to have the kind of confidence that comes from an inner assurance that I belong to you. Father, please keep me from pride and boasting. That will only make me more insecure and fearful that I will lose face in front of others. Dear Jesus, give me the inner assurance that comes from security in you—knowing that you called me for a specific purpose and have equipped me with the spiritual gifts I need to carry out that purpose. With you by my side, I can boldly set out to do your work, confident that I am within your will.

Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. Psalm 112:5-8
