How can I know what my calling is?

Dear God,

What is my calling? Have you made me for a special purpose? Your Word tells me this is true. The more I get to know you through reading the Bible, the more I sense that you have something special in store for my life. As I read your Word, please bless me with the knowledge of what you want me to do and where you want me to go. Bring me insight into how you made me so I can see where I might fit in your plan. Your Word tells me that you give each person certain aptitudes. Help me to develop my abilities so that I can use them for you. Your Word also tells me that when you transform me by the power of your Holy Spirit, you will literally change the way I think. May my transformed mind recognize your leading. Please don’t let me miss your calling because I wasn’t ready or I didn’t recognize it. Instead, when your calling comes, let it fill my thoughts and consume my energies so that I long to pursue it wholeheartedly.
