A prayer for Comfort

When I need God to speak comfort to me in difficult times

Almighty God,

I’m amazed at how my need for comfort and your supply of comfort are always in perfect balance. You welcome me to call on you in my distress because that demonstrates my trust in you. When I’m lonely, troubled, or afraid, I can cry out and know you will answer. The Bible tells me that you love to show your power through my weakness. You are my source of comfort, and the greatest resource for finding that comfort is your Word. Your promises encourage me and give me confident assurance that I will one day live forever in peace and security with you. Your Word is as close as my fingertips, and your presence is as close as my whispered prayer. Thank you that there is no one closer to me than you.
