A prayer for Advice

When I am looking for good advice

Heavenly Father,

What should I do now? So many times I have asked that question. In this age of conflicting claims and confusing information, where can I find wise counsel? Please lead me to those through whom you speak. And please help me to hear you when you whisper wisdom in my heart. May I seek knowledge and understanding from you—the one who knows everything that will happen today and tomorrow and every day to come. And may I learn to recognize it when you send it, through whatever means you choose to send it. Please help me to recognize my limitations and seek good counsel from the beginning, rather than discover too late that my limitations have made my problems worse. Lord, help me to avoid getting into a position where I find myself saying, “If only I had asked sooner.” Thank you for your wisdom.

Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life. Proverbs 19:20
