When I need wisdom

Dear Lord Jesus,

So often I know the facts, but I still don’t know what to do about them. I need wisdom! Your Bible has so much to say about wisdom; in fact, the entire book of Proverbs is devoted to it. That’s a good thing because life is messy, and getting through it gracefully requires much insight. I recognize that you, the all-powerful, all-knowing God, have designed this world in such a way that my choices really make a difference in the direction my life takes. So I need a lot of wisdom to make good choices. And you promise that you will supply plenty of wisdom to those who ask for it. Thank you for this essential gift. Wisdom begins with understanding that I am accountable to you, O Lord. Only your wisdom helps me develop a godly perspective that penetrates the deceptive and distorted messages of this world. I choose to apply your truth to my daily relationships and situations.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5
