A Prayer About Compromise

A prayer about Compromise

When I need to find common ground without compromising my convictions

Dear God,

I’m trying to reach an agreement, and I need the wisdom to know when to compromise and when to stand firm on my convictions. I have to be a student of your Word, because it teaches me truth. And truth is where I must draw the line, for to compromise your truth is to negotiate with that which is unholy. Perhaps the test of acceptable compromise is simpler than I realize: Can I reach a satisfactory agreement without your truth being sacrificed? To give up godliness for something less is a bad bargain. So may I work for harmony and agreement whenever it is possible, but when it is not, I pray that you would break through the stalemate and make your will clear.

Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God. 3 John 1:11
