When I keep thinking wrong things

Dear Lord,

Right now I am having a hard time thinking about you because so many other things crowd my thoughts. And many of those thoughts, I am embarrassed to admit, aren’t pure. I know you take my thought life seriously because my thoughts reveal who I really am. And I am not the person I want to be. Lord, please help me work on changing my heart. I know my thought life will follow. May I desire the character that comes from your heart. I can begin right now by reading Scripture, meditating on it, and memorizing passages that focus on the essence of a heart committed to you. Please do your merciful work within me, helping me to desire a heart that longs for you. When I am willing, I know you can transform my thoughts.
