A prayer about Encouragement
When I want to thank God for encouraging me
Dear God,
What an encouragement it is to know that your power—the power of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—is on my side. The number of enemies against me doesn’t matter to you. After all, you used the young boy David to overcome the giant Goliath. You used Gideon’s three hundred soldiers to defeat the vast armies of Midian. And you used the twelve disciples to establish the whole church. I don’t have to be above average for you to do great things through me; in fact, you seem to take joy in doing great works through ordinary people. Knowing that you work through me despite my limitations inspires me to desire to worship and honor you.
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. Colossians 1:11-14
