A prayer about Pretending

When I want my faith to be more genuine

Dear God,

Help me to care more about other people. I don’t want to only pretend to care about the needy, or pretend not to notice when someone needs help, or pretend there’s nothing I can do. Please change my heart so that I really care—just like you do. May my faith become genuine and active, ready to go the extra mile to help those in need.

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 1 John 3:18-19
