A Prayer About Letting Go
A prayer about Letting Go
When I need help letting go
Dear Father,
Letting go is often so hard for me. I want to be in control, but I need to learn to trust you in situations beyond my control. Teach me to do what I know is right for as long as I can and then trust you to take it from there. I know that the more I hold on to control, the less I hold on to you. I have to keep reminding myself that sometimes I serve you best by obediently standing aside and watching you work. It is only then that I realize you are the one who is really in control! I remember Moses’ mother. She physically let go of her baby when she placed his basket in the water, but she did not let go of her concern for him. Because she trusted in you, you gave her the opportunity to do more for her son than she ever could have hoped for. Father, please allow me to get out of your way so that you can work like that in my life. Don’t let me confuse “letting go” with “giving up.” Giving up is quitting; letting go is allowing you to make the next move. May I learn this lesson in obedience and service.
Call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory. Psalm 50:15
