A prayer about Giving

When I want to give to others based on how much God has given me

Lord,

Giving is such a remarkable concept that it could only have originated in the heart of a generous God like you. You pour out more blessings on me than I could ever deserve. The gift of life, the gift of love, the gift of salvation, the gift of eternity in heaven—all of these are priceless. My possessions are generally a tangible result of what I have invested through time, energy, and talent. But who I am, my very character, is always a direct result of what I have invested of myself with you and others. One of the great promises of the Bible is that the more I give, the more I receive—not necessarily in material possessions, but in spiritual and eternal rewards. Whatever I receive in this life, whether material or spiritual, is because you have given it to me. Nothing I receive is of my own doing, so everything I receive I can pass along to bless others.
