A prayer about Faithfulness

When I tell of God’s faithfulness to the next generation

Lord God,

Today, I ask for the courage to reveal your faithfulness to the next generation—something that’s both a privilege and an obligation. I see your faithfulness everywhere around me, and I want to leave a rich spiritual heritage by building this awareness into the minds of my children and grandchildren. Let my words and actions “sing a duet” of faithfulness to you so I can give my children an example to treasure throughout their lifetimes. This has far more lasting value than any other kind of inheritance I might leave behind. Hear my prayer, Lord, for I long for others to rest in your unfailing love and faithfulness.

The love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! Psalm 103:17-18
