A Prayer About Differences

A prayer about Differences

How can I have harmony with people who are so different from me?

Dear God,

There are so many people about whom I’d say, “We’re as different as night and day.” But until now, I’ve never thought about how that might be a good thing. In your infinite wisdom, you made light and darkness work together to form one day. Both are necessary because each facilitates life in a different way. Just as light and dark are different but united, I can be united with people who are different from me by using our differences to accomplish something whole. That can be a wonderful picture of harmony. I want to see this in action! May you provide me the opportunity to find harmony with new and different people.

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6
