A prayer about Change

When I need to deal with all the change in my life

Good and gracious God,

I’ll state the obvious: change is stressful! I know that change is one of the great constants of life, but that doesn’t make it any easier. Whether big or little, change keeps coming at me. People change, relationships change, jobs change. I know some changes are positive—thank you for those! Other changes seem negative, and I need to learn to thank you for those as well. I’m grateful that you promise to redeem even the most difficult things that can happen to me. And I thank you that when I go through traumatic change, I am reminded that you are changeless and dependable. Father, there is one big change you ask from me, and that is an inner change of heart called repentance. Please work out this radical transformation in my heart so that the trajectory of my life will be positively changed forever.

I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. Ezekiel 36:26
