A prayer about Victory

When I want to experience victory

Victorious God,

With your help, the Israelites experienced victory after victory as they marched toward the Promised Land. My greatest victory, which was won by Christ, was when I received your wonderful gift of salvation. Yet daily I still need victory over the strongholds of sin that threaten my ability to live effectively for you and be a victorious example to others. Your Word tells me that if I want to experience victory in the Christian life, I must be willing to commit myself to vigorous spiritual training and preparation. Help me to make that my goal. May I pray without ceasing. May I consistently read your Word and obey it. O Lord, I want to make you my top priority. I know that when I put you first, I will conquer my fears. You will give me victory over Satan’s tactics, which seek to derail my relationship with you and with those I love. You alone can cause me to be victorious over sin, and I rest in your power.

You are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. Psalm 32:7
