A prayer about the Will Of God

When I wonder what purpose God has for me

Father God,

In your Word you have set forth your general will for all people. If I follow your commands with my whole heart, I will stay morally pure, connected with you, and loving toward others. That’s certainly your will for me. But I know that you also created me for a specific purpose, and you call me to do certain tasks. When I’m uncertain about what to do, remind me again that it’s often through steady obedience to your general will that I find your specific direction. I’m so thankful that you are vitally interested in the details of my life: you care about them, and they matter to you. Yet someday, when I enter into eternity, I know the specifics of what job I took or what house I bought won’t be as important as whether I was faithful in loving and serving you. May I make simple obedience my focus today.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:6
