A prayer about Surrender

When I surrender my life to God

Heavenly Father,

I want to surrender my life to you—to give up what I think is best and to do what you know is best. Help me, God, to put aside my self-fulfilling ambitions so that I can do the job you have for me. May your Holy Spirit live in me and through me. When I try to control my own life, I run into many problems. I struggle and I fall. So I give up control to you, knowing that you created me, love me, know me, and have a plan for me. I trust you with everything I have. When I stop grasping for what I want and release my life into your hands, I know I will begin to experience true freedom.

Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
