A Prayer About Self-esteem
A prayer about Self-esteem
When I’m struggling with insecurity
Father,
I struggle with insecurity, and often I think it’s because I’m measuring my value by the wrong things. I compare myself to other women and worry about how I measure up in appearance, intelligence, or even popularity. Am I a better mother, wife, daughter, or friend than someone else? I evaluate myself all the time. Not only is it exhausting, but it makes me look at other women as competition instead of as people created in your image, deserving of love. That’s not what you want for me. Rather, you want me to think of others as people created in your image, deserving of love. Teach me, Lord, that the only thing that matters—the only way to be secure—is to find my value as your creation. You say that I am one of your masterpieces! Your power within me can give me a healthy and confident self-esteem because, with you, I am capable of becoming far more than I could ever dream on my own.
We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
