A Prayer About Strengths And Weaknesses

A prayer about Strengths And Weaknesses

When I wonder how God can use my strengths and weaknesses

Father God,

I know that people are not always what they seem. A petite woman might be an incredible endurance runner. A bodybuilder might have a weakness for drugs or alcohol. Sometimes what appears weak is strong beneath the surface, and what seems strong is actually weak. Help me to remember that external appearance is not a good indicator of internal spiritual strength. That’s true for those around me, but it’s also true for me. As I mature in my relationship with you, may I learn to recognize both my weaknesses and my strengths. I admit my weaknesses with humility, because your Word tells me that you call out the best in me when you work through my weaknesses. That’s when your strength is shown most clearly. May I always rely on you to use both my strengths and weaknesses as I serve and glorify you. Then I will be truly strong.

Each time [the Lord] said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
