A prayer about Spiritual Warfare

When I recognize that spiritual enemies are real

Almighty God,

I often get so caught up in what I can see that I forget about the spiritual enemies I can’t see. But I know they are there. Your Word clearly teaches that humans are involved in a spiritual battle, and my faith in you puts me right in the middle of it. Help me to recognize that and protect myself with your armor so I will not be overwhelmed. I need your power to stand strong, to resist temptation, and to help me face the unseen enemy. Please protect me, God. Most of all, give me the peace that comes from knowing that you have already won the battle over death and evil! You are the ultimate victor over Satan, and you have the power to save me.

We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Ephesians 6:12-13
