A prayer about Spiritual Growth

When I’m feeling dry and empty

Lord God,

My soul is dry, thirsting for something that will be truly fulfilling. I’m dealing with the heat of temptation and the pressures of life, and that has caused a season of drought in my soul. My desire to know you and serve you just seems to have wilted. Help me, Lord. I need you to revive me. May I not neglect the life-giving source of your Word. As I immerse myself in it, I know it will refresh me, quenching my thirst and bringing new growth. Just as you send the rain to refresh the earth, you also send opportunities that will help revive my passion for you. May I always take these opportunities to move out of the wasteland back to the greener pastures of connection with you. Give me the strength to persevere, Lord, knowing that you will draw me to yourself and restore joy to me.

The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Isaiah 58:11
