A prayer about Spiritual Gifts

When I want to use my gifts for God

Lord,

I want to be available to you. I know one way I can do that is by developing the gifts you have given me so that I will be prepared for you to use me. Thank you that you give each believer at least one spiritual gift, and you also provide a place to use that gift to encourage others and to bring glory to your name. Give me wisdom as I seek to find the place I should serve. I know that when I use my gifts, I will help fulfill the purpose for which you made me. I’m thankful that I can never use up my spiritual gifts; rather, the more I use them, the more they grow.

A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. . . . In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. 1 Corinthians 12:7-9, 22
