A Prayer About Sorrow
A prayer about Sorrow
When I wonder if joy will ever overcome my sorrow
Loving God,
Struggle and tears are so often part of my life. Tragedy strikes, losses occur, and I am left sorrowing. I know that you never promised that my faith would keep me from going through difficult times, but you have promised to be with me always. Help me, Lord, to walk through my own “Valley of Weeping” hand in hand with you, growing stronger along the way. May I walk toward you and never turn away, because you alone can redeem my losses with your promises of comfort and hope. I can take heart knowing that grief will not have the last word. You will relieve my sorrow and one day replace it with joy that lasts forever.
What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings. They will continue to grow stronger, and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem. Psalm 84:5-7
